Yikes!!! Winter - North of the Border!!!

Last week, while driving in Abbotsford, Meg and I noticed that Mt. Baker was looking very majestic covered in a fresh fall of snow. The winter snow and chill were approaching but were across the border, way off on that mountain - far, far away...
Having wintered in Mexico for the last few, I generally am not around BC for the cold/slushy/sleety weather that blows in from "where-ever" to chill yer bones. Not that I don't like BC winters, it's just that I am not prepared for the chill anymore...I've given away all my cold weather gear. So when the weather people on TV call for temperatures hovering around the 0C mark and the possibility of SNOW, I cringe and hope that their meteorological prognostications are mistaken. There was a hint of diminishing temperatures on the weekend with the sudden hailstorm but the rain returned and washed the crunchy bits away. And on Wednesday we got big fluffy snowflakes for an hour or so but, again, the rain came and washed it all away.

This morning there was no rain, just that eery silence that a snowfall creates and the gentle white blanket that covers everything. It's not that bad after all...It's lovely! And to make it even more lovely, the sun has come out to make it sparkle. I will enjoy it while I can then head off for points south next week, content with the sub-zero experience but ready for the balmy 32C (0:
